A. Verify that QuickBooks is updated to the most recent version.

You must suppress the QuickBooks desktop because you are unable to open it.

1. Double-click the QuickBooks desktop icon when holding down the CTRL key on the keyboard.

2. Press and hold the Ctrl key until QuickBooks appears on your screen before releasing it.You will see a window, as shown in the image below, and then proceed.

Step 1: From QuickBooks Desktop, open the QuickBooks Company File.

1. Select File > Open or Restore Company… from the File menu.

2. Click Next after selecting the appropriate form of QuickBooks file to open.

3. Look for your company file’s location.

4. Click Open after selecting the file.

Step 2 .Rename the. ND and.TLG files

You can use the ND and.TLG files to run QuickBooks company files on a network and in multi-user mode. If these files are damaged or corrupted, you can encounter QuickBooks Error 6000 77, which can be resolved by renaming them.

1. Go to the location of your QuickBooks company file. [Default Location] C: Users Public Documents Intuit QuickBooks Company File

2. Now search for files with the extensions.ND and.TLG.

3. Select Rename from the context menu and enter”.OLD” at the end of the file.

CompanyName.qbw.ND, for example, has been renamed to CompanyName.qbw.ND.OLD.

It is now CompanyName.qbw.TLG.OLD instead of CompanyName.qbw.TLG.

4. To confirm, click Yes.

Step 3: Transfer the QuickBooks Company File to a New Place

If your company file is on a network, copy it and paste it to your local drive on the machine you’re using. If you can open the company file locally on your computer, please use QuickBooks File Doctor to troubleshoot your network.

1. Go to Local Disk in File Explorer (Windows key + R) (C:)

2. Right-click a blank space and choose New > Folder from the menu.

3. Go to your company’s file location and open it.

4. From the keyboard, press and hold the Ctrl key.

5. Choose your company file (.QBW) and related files (.TLG and.ND).

6. Right-click, pick Copy, and then let go of the Ctrl key.

7. Return to your new folder and right-click, then pick Paste.

Step 4: Examine your company file’s properties and file extension.

1. Go to the location where the company’s files are kept.

2. Right-click on your company file and select Properties from the menu that appears.

3. Make sure the file is a QuickBooks Company File (.qbw) and that it is at least 7 MB in size.

4. Next, go to Advanced and uncheck Compress contents to save disc space in the Compress or Encrypt attributes portion.

5. Select OK.

Step 5: Change the name of the company file

1. Go to the location where the company’s files are kept.

2. Right-click on your company file and select Rename from the menu that appears.

3. Rename the file.

If one is open, provide a TLG file as well.

Important: Retain the original file extension, such as.qbw, .qbb, and so on.

Step 6: Reinstall QuickBooks Desktop after uninstalling it.

You will need to uninstall and reinstall the QuickBooks desktop to resolve this problem. Alternatively, you might transfer your QuickBooks to a new machine and attempt to open your company file there. If you can open the company on the new machine, your old computer might have problems.
